Slingshot announced the development of a new “eSource” module for strategic sourcing. eSource automates the process of identifying, importing, qualifying and evaluating potential suppliers. Suppliers can be pasted into the application from a spreadsheet or imported from a web source or marketplace.
Slingshot’s customer portal now utilizes Slingshot’s recently released application architecture - G2. The look is dramatically different. The left menu has been eliminated providing a wider format and horizontal menu bars.
Functions can be accessed more quickly. Form tabs, toolbars and the toolbox make it easier to find what you need. There are far fewer links on forms making them cleaner and easier to use. Additional features have been added to the dashboard including the ability to drag and drop “Favorite’s” from the menu bars. Slingshot’s Smart Search has been implemented for all search controls. Finally, the portal now supports Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox and Safari browsers. Here is a taste of the new look. Slingshot’s Supply Chain Planner nets supply and demand and maintains a schedule of planned resupply orders. These orders optimize inventory levels assuming lead time and transit time constraints, order policies, safety stock policies and other planning rules. The resultant “supply plan” is maintained in real time and instantly adjusted when planning rules, inventory levels, demand orders, demand forecast or supply orders are changed. Additional rules manage the transition of planned supply orders into open orders. Slingshot has released a new smart phone application called “Mobile Expense Capture”. The application is available, at no additional charge, to Slingshot customers who have licensed the Slingshot Payables application.
Slingshot has completed its next generation user interface. It offers improved performance, functionality, and aesthetics.
Slingshot developers and its web design firm have spent the last year revamping all application forms and functions. Slingshot set a design goal of a vibrant user interface which provides an uncluttered, contemporary aesthetic: a stimulating and pleasant workspace that promotes efficiency. Encouraging feedback from customer and employee reviewers indicate the goals have been achieved. The new user interface will be included in version G2-3.0 which is scheduled for general availability in February.
